Currently I plug my Garmin Edge 500 into my laptop via the USB port to upload to Strava.
But, I’m going to be doing a bit of bikepacking & I don’t want to lug my laptop around with me. So what are my options:
Of course I could just wait until after the trip & upload all my rides at once, but assuming I want to do this while I’m away, does it work in the manner described below:
- A newer Garmin with bluetooth “talks” to a smartphone and the smartphone uploads to Strava via an app?
- If the above is correct, would any smartphone be able to handle the upload to Strava, or does it have to be a particular OS?
- Or is there another option which doesn’t need a smartphone? (I’ve done pretty well avoiding them up until now, but bike-related apps mean that I may have to take the plunge).
Thanks for advice!
