On a bend? By trying to take it too quickly and failing to stay in the lane is the only likely answer.

The BBC article says that the collision happened because the bloke on a motorbike “drifted” into the other lane, into oncoming traffic, and then hit the cyclist. Now, a car or lorry you’d immeidately be thinking “distracted driving due to phone, tiredness, etc”; but how does a motorcycle drift into the wrong lane?
