Good point, hadn’t considered this (hopefully the designer has though)

    Just no to anything

Just no to anything disposible. We have tons of helmets already. Stick them in a locker and let people rent and return with the bike. We don’t need to be making more crap. They are not ‘environmentally friendly’, unless they’re organically grown on location.

Room 101 with these, and those ridiculous coffee pods.

    Excellent idea, I have long

Excellent idea, I have long wondered why no-one has invented a cheap diaposable helmet for cycle share schemes. I did think that the solution would just be a polystyrene thing but this design makes more sense as it is foldable when not in use and more environmentaly friendly. I hope that the safety standards are good enough, the line “The UK’s Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents said it was unable to comment on any products that had not met its safety standards” is slightly worrying. Though this could just mean that it hasn’t been tested by them yet rather that tested and failed. It has been tested in a university lab and it would make sense not to spend money on expensive certifications untill enough funding is secured.
