I just saw a Boardman Bikes Elite Backcountry Frame (only) in an add on this site. $1599.99 My God! I only paid $1500 for my 250 Virago with only 2800 miles on it in pristine condition. That's madness. Frame only? And a set of handlebars @ $255? Sheesh.

I can sort of see what you’re getting for your money with the latest MTB stuff but I’m convinced road bikes prices are an industry troll job sometimes.

$1500 is NOT expensive for a

$1500 is NOT expensive for a frame. For example these framesets: Specialized S-Works Tarmac is $3,700; Bianchi Specialisma $5000; Pinarello F8 $5,700; Cervelo RCA $8,600-$10,000, and the list goes on. Basically, like automobiles you buy what you can afford.
