I have been getting neck pain around the top of my shoulders on and off for a while however cant seem to find the source of it. I used to get it on relatively short rides on my road bike however a longer and lower stem sorted that problem out (strangely!)
I have been doing lots of shorter rides recently 2 hours and less but i did do a 100km ride the other week and the neck pain started coming back towards the end.
I am wondering if its just getting my body used to being in that position for longer rides again or if i have something wrong with my bike position.
I have a giant defy small frame wit a 110mm stem slammed. Bike is really the wrong geometry for me – i would like something more racey as im quite flexible but need to get some money first.
I only ride for fun or do sportives and usually solo so im not racing at the moment.
I dont get any other pains whilst cycling even if i ride in the drops for an hour – just the neck pain which goes away as soon as i get off the bike.
Anyone have any advice?
