Women’s Sprint question

    So Vogel won without a seat. I’m sure somebody here knows the rules. Would this not put her bike below minimum weight! (Sorry, I’m an F1 fan and I know how critical weight is there)

    Yes. When Glaetzer had to get a new bike last evening (in the keirin 7-12 final) the first thing they did was weigh it; they then put it in a jig to ensure that it met the other sizing/dimension restrictions (saddle fore/aft and handlebar bar position I think).

    Does the minimum weight apply

    Does the minimum weight apply to track bikes?  Without 500g of derailleurs the frames must be full of lead?

    Cycling commisaires aren’t immune to a rediculous adjudication either but even that would have  been pushing it!

    Fair comment. As I said. I was looking at it from an F1 viewpoint, where churlish penalties are commonplace.
