Mavic Ksyrium vs. Fulcrum Racing Quattro LG

    Hi – 

    I’m currently choosing a new wheelset to replace my stock wheels on a CAAD8 105.  I’ve narrowed it down to the Mavic Ksyrium (standard ones, not the the Elite) and the Fulrum Quattro’s.  I’ve read an awful lot of reviews and am still finding it difficult to make a decision. I’m sure they’ll both my heaps better than what I have but would love some help/opinion in making my mind up.  (Sometimes the internet is a curse!)

    (I’m sure this has probably been covered off here more than once so please excuse if that’s the case…)

    Yeah, think i’m gonna go for these.  I did actually order a pair of Quattro’s but they sent the Ksyrium’s by accident which then had me in a quandry (especially as they come with tyres).  But i think i’m going to send them back and stick the original choice of the Quattro’s.

    I’ve had a lot of wheels and these are just about my favourite. They could be lighter but it’s really not noticeable. Really really good wheels at honestly silly prices.

    Thanks for that.  Can’t seem to find many user reviews on the standard Krysiums (not the Elite, there’s plenty on those) to make the comparison.  The consensus is pretty positive on the Quattro’s so i’ll think i’ll just go for those.  I’m sure they’re of a reasonably similar quality at that price point.  thanks again

    To replace the ever

    To replace the ever puncturing stock Bontrager wheels on my Trek commute bike I chose the Fulcrum Quattros as I already had a pair of Fulcrum 3s on my ‘best’ Trek angry and, for me, they are ideal. Run smooth and best of all don’t cause punctures due to poor assembly. You will need longer valved tubes as they are med depth not shallow, although not too important but a pain if you only have 42mm in the shed! Unfortunately I can’t comment on the Krysiums as it is ages ago that I had a pair of Mavics.
