Vetting a winter/bad weather bike at the moment. Want to pick up something cheap on eBay when a deal comes along. Thinking CAAD 8 or CAAD 10 used. Stick 25 or 28mms on there.

Really would prefer an all black frame too, but not as important.

Any thoughts? When I say cheap, I’ll be looking to grab something around £600 used, then will change cockpit, saddle/post myself.

Is there much difference between the CAAD 8 and 10 frame?

CAADX? Not a bad bet if you
CAADX? Not a bad bet if you don’t mind foregoing road geometry. Can also take wider tyres and mudguards.

Reviews say the Tiagra’s just as good as the 105.

I’m thinking of getting the Tiagra (prob. 2015 model) as an all round commuting/winter/wet-weather bike. If you have one please share your thoughts and comments on it 🙂

CAAD10 is a great option for a quick light winter speedster.

Mine was 7.7 I think with Ultegra and Ksyrium Elites.

Just as a note you won’t be getting 28’s on a CAAD, 25’s are tight.  GP4000 25’s on the Elites were fine bit too tigh on the Enves.
