New Bike advice £2000

So my cycle to work is coming up and y company does a £2,000 limit (get in) the only issue is I’m stuck for choice I can use most shops for it but I do get a 18% discount at Halfords so the new 2016 SLR is looking good at £1458 I’m looking for something racy and either light or aero (ideally both) no looking for endurance or sportive bikes. I’m current running A Boardman pro carbon 2008 frame with 10 speed 105(Ultegra crank) Look Keo carbon pedals and fulcrum 3's (2015 11s version) obviously I’ll keep the wheels and pedals so bad wheels on a good frame would be ideal Any suggestions (links please) And no clearance bikes as I’ve got a month to wait :(

Similar dilemma, I managed to negotiate a last year Specialized Venge Expert for 2k. Having said that the Elite fits in now at 1600 UKP with the price reductions.

So many out there, but VFM is probably with the Giant Propel in my view.

Another vote for R2! You

Another vote for R2! You could also find S2 for the price, maybe even R3.

Other options…I’d also suggest Bianchi Oltre XR1 Veloce (1900 now in several places). Spec Tarmac (several options available) and Super Six Evo are always good options. Check out BMC Team machine with Evans and also maybe Focus Izalco Max with Sigma.

I LOVE mine! Had it since April last year, done 5000 km on it. The own brand wheels and tyres are ok – I thought I’d swap the tyres for Continentals when the originals wore out, but ended up getting the same again. I did an Everesting on it in May last year, so with 27 hours and 300km of riding comfort wasn’t really a problem.

Last year’s version had a red and white paint job, which I preferred.

Last year you could get a Di2 version of my frame for about £2k, or if you went up to £2.5k you got much better wheels, better front end, maybe different carbon in the frame, but the groupset went “back” to 105. I test rode it, and it was fantastic, almost enough for me to stick the extra on the plastic, but after a sleepless night I chickened out and bought what I could afford.
