    Hi Everyone,

Was looking to place an online order with RaceView Cycles but was wondering if anyone has feedback, before I go ahead.

    thanks,

    Bill

    I purchased from Race View

I purchased from Race View Cycles a few weeks ago for the first time. I live in Seattle. The shop came up under a Google shopping search and had the lowest prices for this Sram crankset and derailleur. So I bought them without much hesitation. They shipped to my place within a week. I was very pleased. It was well packed. I’d buy from them again. I don’t know if it’s the euro currency exchange that I benefited from living in the states. I thought the euro was still stronger than the dollar.

It’s a legitimate and trustworthy business.

    I had an overall good

I had an overall good experience with these guys.

Found an very good deal on some fancy tubular tires, better than seemingly most everything else out there. Took them a couple days to ship the order, but they were responsive when I emailed them and messaged them on Facebook.

The package arrived remarkably fast, considering it was going to the US (California). They had been removed from the original packaing and packed tightly in plastic, which was odd. Though I gave them a thorough inspection and the products looked fine. For the price, I couldn’t have expected any better.

I’ve also had a dig around

I’ve also had a dig around the interweb and Dawn Gregg/Wilson look to be the same and listed on various company records as director or secretary of companies where a Mr Fraser Wilson is also listed as director. I’m spending my money elsewhere even if it costs more. A lot of people seem to have lost their hard earned with the shiny bikes debacle.

Let’s not have a go at Bill

Let’s not have a go at Bill for posting his feedback. He’s a happy customer and has reported his good experience – that’s what forums are for.

Race View Cycles have shown on this thread that they’re happy to lie about the link between Shiny Bikes and their business, that they are quick to issue threats of legal action to their customers and that they’re unable to hold up their hands and apologise when badly caught out.

This thread is highly-ranked by Google, so I’m surprised they’ve not been on here to delete their post entirely, particularly these bits:

The rest of the statements and correlations linking us with any other company or companies such as Shiny Bikes is incorrect.

We are an independent company, you cannot assume that just because Race View Equestrian operates out of a shop premises nearby to where they used to have premises is the same company.

The comments above suggest we are the same company are inaccurate, untrue and libellous. I suggest some members should base their written communications on fact and not assumptions.

Maybe they’ll be along in a moment to claim that “RaceviewEquestrian” wasn’t them at all and threatening to send a solicitor’s letter to the imposter’s IP address…

So I had actually placed an order with Raceviewcycles just before posting. That order has now arrived and everything is great. The goods were well packed and arrived in excellent condition. The original price on their website was competitive which was the main reason for making the order. I had spoken with John about some details and got a good response. Honestly, I’ve had worse service from one of the big online suppliers in the past. The package arrived, partially opened and one if the items was missing. It was only a small Birzman multitool. But despite informing them (E***S) I never heard back from them. I’ve had other instances of goods arriving in flimsy bubble wrapping bags from another of the big online operators.

So my experiences with Raceviewcycles for this order have been very acceptable.

Think it’s fair to say that it’s usually a safer bet to stick with the big retailers.
You have a very similar style of writing to RaceviewEquestrian by the way.

I bought a rear mech online

I bought a rear mech online from Raceview over Christmas, mainly due to the very competitive price. Took a little while to get to me which did prompt me to call them to enquire. The service I received when I called was first rate though with the promised call back once further details regarding the order were known coming within half an hour of my initial call.

I do think folks at Raceview that it might be worth taking a few tips from Nick at Vulpine on good responses on the comments pages, would probably spare you from similar grief in the future.

Yup – they’ve removed the hissyfit as quoted by “harragan”

As equestrian people they should understand about stable doors and bolting horses….

How do you explain that, if you Google “site:raceviewcycles.com shiny”, the search results for the Vittoria inner tubes has a description that reads “Shiny Bikes special saver pack of 20 Vittoria boxed inner tubes 700c 1923mm.”

Of course, when you click through, that particular page of the site has since been updated to remove the reference to Shiny Bikes.

I’ve taken a screenshot and I’m sure those of us who are about to receive a solicitor’s letter greatly look forward to throwing it straight in the bin.

    A family run equestrian

A family run equestrian business, with a chartered accountancy background, and 25 years road cycling sales experience since the Giro passed by 2 years ago?

(And a marketing manager acting as if they’re still in primary school, or maybe a marketing manager looking at whoever wrote the above post in horror.)

    Prices arn’t even that good.

And a lack of reviews online for either company would have me staying away.
