last week in April- free week cycling. Where to go?

    I have a significant birthday coming up and am thinking of giving myself a pressie of a 5 days cycling in Southern Europe in the last week of April. 

    I was hoping to do the Ventoux 3 times in a day but the more I look at it the more the weather looks dodgy and there is a chance that at least one pass might be shut. 

    So any thoughts? 

    Ventoux still?

    Nice?

    I have done Ventoux in early

    I have done Ventoux in early May and the weather was not on our side.  The temperature in the valley was 14C but below freezing at the top, with icy melt water streaming across the road for the last five miles.  At the summit the fog was so thick nobody bothered to take photos, or maybe that was because we fell into the cafe and sat on the heaters, desperately trying to prevent hypothermia.  If you make an attempt a couple of weeks earlier you may need some good luck.

    But would I do it again?  Of course.

    That time of year I would go
    That time of year I would go for Majorca as the weather is more likely to be good.
    Ventoux is fab but the mistral can totally stuff up your plans
