New Road shoes advice

    Hi, I am looking at the Bontrager Velocis Road shoe in Pink and just wondered if anyone has them and what they think of them?

    I have short toes and hence i normally try to size down a little with cycling shoes. I prefer them wide as well. I previously tried the Fizik R5B in a shop and it was just too narrow unfortunately because they were my first choice.

    Anyone got any recommendations? Budget is around £150 ish, which should be enough for one down from the model for most brands?

    umm… I can see the s works

    umm… I can see the s works 2015 are going for around 160-170 but i read on a review it has a narrow ish toebox which was improved upon with the s work 6 shoe (the new one) but thats 280! I cant stretch to that unfortunately!!! I suppose i can try in my local lbs who stocks them to see if its really narrow (2015 version)

    Giro Factor seems to have had a pretty big price drop since release, and seems tempting but they dont have those boa dials but these rachet. Still, I think i will take a closer look at them.

    As for the LG, I’ve just looked at the Course Air Lite… they are stunning…. in Red!!! and looks like a top shoe I can get on the Cheap/sale!

    I think realistically is the LG or the Bontragers… Thanks for the suggestions!

    I don’t have them but I did try them on when I was in the market for new shoes. I ultimately went for Specialized S-Works shoes on a deal. Bontrager, as a brand, are quite a wide fit which I found them whereas the S-Works is narrower which is what I ended up finding more comfortable. They’re a really nice pair of shoes and weight-wise are pretty light. The S-Works are a better shoe, but in my experience, they just fitted better. Also tried on some Giro Factor shoes which also come up wide. In terms of a really good shoe that will come under-budget, have a look at the Louis Garneau Carbon LS-100 or the Course.
