Time Atac / Axion cleats – Shimano SPD’s?

I have TIME commuter shoe/pedals & the cleats are worn, just wondering if anyone knows if Shimano SPD’s are compatible? thanks

Compatible with the shoes but
Compatible with the shoes but not with the pedals. Why not just put on a new pair of ATAC cleats? I find the system superior to SPD.
