Getting a bit fed up trying to clean my bike leaned up against a wall or something similar.

Anyone got any (cheap) options for a workstand or something similar that would do the job?

Can’t decide whether to get a “proper” workstand on whether to get a stand that props up the bike from the back wheel.

    Decisons decisons 😕

Here’s mine in another regular use – keeping the rain off my smoker…. 🙂

Interesting – it looks identical to mine, but mine was bought directly from these guys (Black Dog Bikes, http://www.bdbikes.co.uk/) about four years ago. Great piece of kit and still going strong.

I agree with the other poster that once you have a ‘proper’ stand, you won’t want to go back to leaning your bike against the wall. Fitting new brake blocks, for example, becomes a joy (relatively speaking…).

Think I’ll have to have a look in my local Aldi & see what I can turn up. Not sure if the cycling stuff is on sale all year though or just as “specials”.

    I have the Elite Race
I have the Elite Race Workstand and its been ace. My brother had one and he loves it. Its so nice to spin the bike and play with the gears properly. The stand is really solid and heavy so it doesn’t wobble all over the shop.

Mine came from Lidl about five or six years ago and cost, I think, £30. It looks suspiciously like the Aldi version. For that money you don’t get quick releases but apart from that it has served me faultlessly. Once you’ve used one you will never go back to leaning the bike against the wall and grovelling on the floor.

The built-in tool tray is particularly useful and the thing is extremely stable.

Would I buy again? Quick as blink.

I got one from Aldi and it’s still going after a few months. Not much of an endorsement, I know, but there isn’t much that can go wrong with it. Simple and basic. Mine cost £25, and I figured it was worth giving it a go.

Aldi stuff always get mentioned cos of price I guess but I’d worry about the longevity of some of it.
