So the story goes. After being taken out by a car turning right without checking my pride and joy mtb is completely buckled. After 15 years of using that steel hunk of a bike for everything from hard core mtb to finally being retired into a a swift rigid commuting bike to rival my expensive carbon bike (on the flat!).
However I am ok (doctor arranged for tonight)! But who is worse, the driver and surrounding taxis…none of whom asked if I was ok or need a lift to the hospital and of course said it was my fault for overtaking stationary traffic (prefered to care over the large dents caused by my shoulder…thank god it was a high sided car otherwise I would have gone over). Or the London Cyclist who on my slow ride to the police station on my buggered bike….. had the nerve to dangerously overtake me on the near side of a bus while giving me lots of grief for being slow but safe on a unsafe bike. Who is worse? I know who I felt most disappointed by…..
