Fabric Saddles – Thoughts and Opinions

    Ordinarily I’m a big fan of Fizik, however I’ve been looking at Fabric Saddles as they appear to be good value for money.

    Any thought or experiences of Fabric Saddles would be greatly appreciated

    Two Charge Spoons here, both leather/Ti, very comfortable and no sign of either wearing out after several years’ use

    I’ve got a Fabric Scoop –
    I’ve got a Fabric Scoop – great looking saddle, still looks like new (bought in August). Comfort? Depends on your shape. I’d say it’s a 4/5 for my bony butt.

    I guess ‘pretty quickly’ is relative- they both went over a year I think, and the muck around Cannock is pretty gritty, plus the odd spill. They didn’t go quickly enough I’d have made a fuss about it, but that said other saddles have lasted longer and not looked so tatty.

    Not exactly a long term
    Not exactly a long term review but I’ve been using a Fabric Scoop shallow for about a month and would happily buy another. Instantly comfy, seems well made, looks good, decent price.

    Got the charge knife on two bikes – I love it so. Light and mega comfy. Only £25 too.

    As I recall, the Fabric
    As I recall, the Fabric saddles are slightly more specialised versions of the Charge saddles. There was a review of the Fabric Scoop a while ago which referred to it being available in various widths and sizes and so on, but being fundamentally the same saddle.

    If you can find a Charge that suits your behind, it will likely be markedly cheaper than a Fabric one.

    Being a poor pensioner and
    Being a poor pensioner and scraping a living by sifting through the dustbins of prominent politicians, I am in no position to afford a Fabric saddle. But I have a fine brace of Charge Spoons, made by Fabric’s parent company, and they are superb value for money.
    A cynic might say that Fabric is a cunning way of cashing in on Charge’s excellent reputation, but all the reviewers love ’em, so what could possibly go wrong?
