New road bike advice please

Hi there I am considering buying a new road bike, the Wilier GTS And Merckx EMX 1 have caught my eye in my local bike shop. I would be grateful for any opinion on which is the bike to go for or maybe another Wilier or Merckx model? I a 6 ft 3 inch 14 stone guy and am looking for a comfortable, solid all round weekend bike to take on 30-60 miles in varied terrain sometimes a lot of challenging hills up to Troodos so a good bike for climbing required. I am not a racer but will participate in the odd sportive. Thanks in anticipation of your advice, cheers Brit in Cyprus
