    Hi,
Are there any cycling books you could recommend? – I am after something for the more novice (racing bike) cyclist. 😉 With things like advice on technique, maybe basic maintenance, training plans, that kind of thing. 🙂

Friel’s bible might be a bit OTT to begin with. Nicole Cook’s book ‘Cycle for Life’ is excellent and covers a wide range of topics. £4.01 from a good seller (have used them before) – http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/301517170756

CW’s latest training plans seem well presented, plus they provide downloadable PDFs – http://www.cyclingweekly.co.uk/fitness/training/cycling-training-plans-153049

For maintenance you can’t beat Park Tool (http://www.parktool.com/blog/repair-help) or GCN & other how-to videos on Youtube.

Slaying the Badger – it has everything you need to know about undermining your team mate and the cut throat attitude you need if you’re going to become a champion…..this is of course adopting the approach that by being an ace cyclist someone somewhere will eventually turn up and clean and maintain your bike.

Zinn and the Art of Bike Maintenance is the Ronseal of books. As is Joe Fiel’s ‘The Cyclist’s Training Bible’.

‘Death of a Cyclist’ on how to dope and not get away with it.
‘Riding through the Dark’ for an English approach.

‘The Secret Race’ or ‘Wheelmen’ for how to dope and get away with it….almost.

Training – The Cyclists training bible, works well if you invest some time in reading it and getting your head around it.
