Safe rim thickness

I have some Mavic Aksiums on my winter hack. They don't apear to have wear indicators, not sure if they were never there or have been worn away. How can I tell how much, if any, life is left? Will I need to by a micrometer to measure rim wall thickness or is there some old trick I need to learn? Thanks in advance,

Are they noticeably concave
Are they noticeably concave to the touch? If so, I’d replace.
