Before you say “oh, exercise keeps you healthy? Shocker!”, the point was that they were trying to isolate the aging process by removing the effects of sedentary lifestyles, but instead of revealing a reasonably consistent ‘normal’ rate of aging, they found that cycling in particular prevents or limits onset of age-related factors.
