What are you are aiming for next year ?
For me it is building up to June when I do two hard sportives (both 160km and 2500m of climbing) and 3 days in the Alps climbing all the main Cols.
After that and some rest will prob go for TT’s for the rest of the year.

2015 is a transitional year
2015 is a transitional year for me, building to what I hope will be a successful attempt at a couple of national vets title in 2016.That said, I still have more aims than I should (well certainly from the other halves perspective anyway!)
Physical:
Drop the weight down to 74kg (currently 78.3kg) by the middle of May
Crack a 380watt 20min test by the end of 2015Competitive:
– Win a road race local to where I grew up. As a kid I’d watch the racing and it transfixed me, but to this day, I’ve never converted a win… keen to address that in March.
– Both the regional road and circuit champs… again never won either (been on the podium so many times its not funny)… would love to get one of those titles
– Ensure that I have a first cat licence going into 2016… the last thing I want to do is miss the entry for a national championship because I missed selection! All quite exciting really.

My first sportive is booked –
My first sportive is booked – ‘No Excuses’ on a potentially freezing cold February day. Also planning to do a local ‘reliability trial’ in January. Beyond that nothing else booked but another 3 day mtb adventure, like I did this year sleeping out under my £3 tarp may well be on the cards and I’m sure I’ll pick up a few other challenges along the way.the_jm
Get out more often than I did
Get out more often than I did this year. Lose some weight. Improve climbing. Ride three or four sportives. Watch the sunrise atop Mount Haleakala and then cycle down.IanEdward
Lots of plans for next year,
Lots of plans for next year, but first of all need to get over a frustrating bout of tendinosis in my wrist, brought on (probably) by my over-enthusiasm jumping back on the bike this year! (see ‘training smarter’ above..). Also need to get used to long hours in the saddle again after a year or so off the bike due to a herniated disc (fitness of a 30 year old, body of a 60 year old…)Attending a wedding in Sonoma next June so hoping to get in a couple of road rides around Sausalito and the Redwoods.
My first taste of the Alps in August staying on the slopes of Alpe d’Huez with some work mates.
Several sportives including new ones such as the Hills of Donegal and the HandsOnEvents Ullapool sportive. Sadly missing a couple of great ones such as the 3 Pistes and the Tour of Mull.
Use the whole year to get ‘distance tough’ with an eye to the Highlands Audax and a tour of Norway in 2016.
