I’m thinking of trying a SRAM XG1190 11sp cassette with my dura ace di2, and a matching SRAM chain in my never ending quest for the quietest sounding bike possible, has anybody tried this combo and does it work ok?

Serious question, no wisecracks needed please 🙂

+1 on the SRAM RED being the
+1 on the SRAM RED being the noisiest. I’ve tried it with Dura 7800, 7900 and RED shifting, SRAM and FSA chains. Shame as the shifting was some of the best.

As all SRAM cassettes are Shimano compatible and vice versa, you should have no reason why it does not work. I also agree with 5-0 try looking at other factors, such as lubricant as dry lubes are noisier than wet lubes. Also look at the set-up of the gears, a mm or two out and it’s noiseville.

My current KCNC cassette and well oilled FSA chain does give an all but silent running.

    The combo should work. I
The combo should work. I can’t speculate on whether it will be quieter, but, as long as the chain is not rubbing against something and is adequately oiled, I wouldn’t think it can be improved much.

The OG Red cassette was the noisiest ever created by man. Unlikely the hg one is better than the DA.
