I bet a lot of you remember Parris’ outburst in 2008 (and maybe the later ones about Cyclists’ Road Tax)?

Someone keeps removing details of this hate crime (which has never been genuinely apologised for) from Parris’ Wikipedia page…I have been reposting them for the last 4 months or so BUT am going away for a few months next year – anyone else want to stop these facts from being hidden from new Cyclists’ view?

    I’m guessing you are ‘Bicycle
I’m guessing you are ‘Bicycle User’ at Wikipedia. You should probably join the discussion at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Matthew_Parris rather than just repeatedly inserting the same text after it gets deleted.

Take a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Edit_warring as well.

    You’re saying that the entry
You’re saying that the entry isn’t factual – which bits do you think are untrue?

I just read your added text,
I just read your added text, and it doesn’t follow Wikipedia rules, is not clearly cited and is an ad hominem attack rather than factual.

It *should* be removed as written.

Take the vitriol out, cite your text fully and add into the correct timeline; or as above with a proper section, and it may well stand.

I like Rod Liddle because he
I like Rod Liddle because he hates just about everyone. And rarely apologises. Not like that Clarkson wimp.

    Oh come on. Whatever Rod
Oh come on. Whatever Rod Liddle has done to you he doesn’t deserve abuse like that. Granted he is probably Clarkson’s love-child, but you aren’t forced to read his stuff.

I though Parris was the nice
I though Parris was the nice face of conservative journalism (being gay and all.) I am disappointed to hear he descends into stereotypical rants against cyclists. It would be a shame to relegate him into the ranks of c***s like Rod Liddle.

Having said that your Wikipedia edit war isn’t helping anyone. If you insist on not letting his comments be forgotten (which might not be a bad thing) then you need to make your edits look official. Make a proper ‘Controversies’ section with other content (if there is any), don’t just put up a hasty headline that will get deleted by Cons who will police his page.

In 250 years the last person to edit a Wikipedia page will be the last one to get a say. It isn’t an infallible source of information for perpetuity. I think you should find better things to do with your time.
