Most Popular Bike Brands – The Results

    Hi Peeps,
    A couple of weeks ago I posted a forum thread to see if we could either confirm or disprove that the big 3 (Giant/Trek/Specialized) are the most popular bike brands amongst the road.cc forum users.

    About 50 of us submitted out information as to which bike we use for the below categories:

    – Commute
    – Sportive
    – Race

    I have made the below assumptions to help pull together the stats:

    TT/Race both = Race
    If Winter and Summer bike submitted, Summer bike was used as this is likely to be your best bike
    Fun/Weekend bike = Sportive

    So, the results (top 3)

    Commute:
    1st – Giant
    2nd – Boardman
    3rd – Felt

    Sportive
    1st – Cannondale
    2nd – Specialized
    3rd – Planet X

    Race
    1st – Cannondale
    2nd – Ridley
    3rd – Cinelli

    I’ve attached full results below. I think our sample size was a bit small, but Giant and Spesh were up there and Cannondale also made a strong appearance.
