Ribble Gran Fondo; Anyone own one? Or a Sportive Bianco?

    Am looking for opinions from any owners/previous owners.

    Thinking of one with Campag Athena and Fulcrum Racing Quattro’s.

    Mt Ribble gran Fondo is in transit now so will report what it is like…

    Built with Campag Chorus full group set, Campag Zonda wheels, Deda stem Look clips.

    Cant wait to try it! Having looked around it was the best spec for the money also looked at Giant TCR Advanced 1 however mine is a much higher spec but the same money through the Ribble Bikebuilder. B-)

    I have a Gran Fondo with Athena on and have had since 2011. It’s been a great bike for me, and for the price it is right up there! It’s not super light but its by no means heavy and I’ve raced it for the past couple of years. I would personally pop campagnolo wheels on instead of the Fulcrums, same wheels just think it’s cooler having everything saying Campag on it!

    Just in time for Christmas
    Just in time for Christmas 2013, I bought a 52cm Ribble Sportive Bianco frame and built it up using Shimano Ultegra 6800 groupset with compact crank. I reused my old Mavic Ksyrium Elite wheelset to keep costs down. I was amazed how easy it was to change the freehub to a Mavic 11 speed and how well it works. Handlebars, stem, seatpost are all Deda.
    The Ribble Sportive Bianco has been a delight to ride. It ascends and descends beautifully and is very comfortable on the crap roads in Sydney (Australia) that are often concrete but always have plenty of potholes.
    My previous bike was a Cannondale CAAD7 (10 years old) and I weigh 67kg.
    My only regret is buying a white frame that shows every speck of dirt and grease. Looks great when clean but is a bugger to keep that way.

    I’ve got a Bianco with a Veloce groupset. Had it for over a year. Not had anything sporty before it, so can’t really compare it. I’d probably advise, though I’m sure you’d clean it religiously anyway, not specifying white wheels, saddle, bars, tape. I mean, it looks superb (and having a black groupset and continetal gatorskins, not like a ghost bike) but it is a tad full on

    I have had a Ribble sportive
    I have had a Ribble sportive bianco with an ultegra chainset the rest is 105. I have shimano RS30 wheels with deda finishing kit. To say I am pleased with the bike would be an understatement. I’m quite a powerful rider and find the frame stiffness is excellent yet still of a good weight and I have found it very comfortable for centurary rides. The quality of finish is very good and it has held up well over the past year still looking very good indeed.

    The only negative I found is that the bottom bracket was over tightened and took a lot of force with a long steel tube to losen it. Still that was more of a build problem rather than a problem with the bike and was easily sorted

    I spoke to a guy on a Grand Fondo last year and he said he regretted not getting the bianco as the fondo was a little too harsh for him and he had ridden a friends bianco which was a more comfortable ride.

    If the bike had a differant badge it would have cost an awful lot more
