Vuelta a Andalucia

I love a good Spanish race with lots of Spanish names like Valverde and Wiggins 😀 Who doesn’t?….

So why not another Forum Competition?

It’s enough to drive you crazy, but here goes! 🙂

The Vuelta a Andalucia runs from Wednesday February 19 to Sunday February 23 2014

And who doesn’t like a hilly, mountainous route? I do. So, yep, in the middle of the chaos of Premium players playing the Volta Algarve on top of the Tour of Oman, I offer the forum diehards the opportunity to burn their brains following yet another stage race – the Vuelta a Andalucia! Crazy, right?

Here’s what it looks like *rubbing my hands with anticipation*

    7.3 Km Prologue
    Stage 1 Cat 1 Cat 3 Cat 3 Cat 2 Cat 2 Cat 3 Hilltop Finish
Stage 2 Cat 3 Cat 3 Cat 1 Summit Finish
Stage 3 Cat 3 Cat 3 Flat Finish
Stage 4 Cat 1 Cat 3 Cat 3 Flat Finish

    Check out the profiles here:

    PAGINA INICIO

Just click on the Stage you want to see to see the profiles.

Obviously, it’s got a start list with some pretty good names that are not going to Oman or the Volta Algarve – Valverde, Wiggins, Porte, Fuglsang, Scarponi, Mollema, Kittel, and Boassen Hagen. Pretty good names! 🙂

So, who’s in? Anybody? I won’t blame you if you bow out! I know it’s a lot of racing, but if you want to join the fun, you’re welcome to give it a cursory shot! 🙂 At stake is nothing more than the pride and honor of winning a Forum Based Competition on a very prestigious cycling website (this one, namely Road.cc, of course!) 🙂 Happy Hunting! 🙂

The budget will be the always lovely 150.00 credits.

The deadline to enter a team will be the start of the Prologue (TBA)

Scoring this might be crazy, but I hope Cyclingnews.com and/or http://www.vueltaandalucia.es/ will provide all the Intermediate Sprint and KOM info!

Here’s cyclingnews.com coverage of the race last year, won by Valverde:

    Thanks!

Good idea. I’ll take Romain Zingle Cofidis at 3.7 if Gerdemann is out…

I was looking at the startlist on Cycling Fever as I’ve always found it reliable, but one of them is obviously wrong! If there is still a discrepancy later today, maybe anyone with Gerdemann should nominate a replacement just in case, and then you can amend the teams accordingly depending on who starts?

Crap. I didn’t notice, Twy. I just wanted to stack my team. Pretty good attention to detail, there 😕 I would want to leave it as it is, though 😕 I like the flexibility of doing that… and we already had a team in the last Forum Based Competition with 3 BMC riders… So, honestly, I’m ok with playing without that rule…

    I think its a fantastic rule ….. ;)

TER’s game so TER’s rules methinks?

    What’s the verdict Tommy(coz I’ve got 3 Astabananas?

Isn’t it Enriques game this year? I’m sure he offered to run these this season and as such last word should sit with him , just like his rule in the last comp of not being able to pick certain riders.

If he is the one taking the time to organise and score it then it’s his game surely?

    my mistake…..enrique’s game,enrique’s rules

what’s the verdict on the number of riders per team enrique……assuming it’s OK to have as many as you want unless you state otherwise

13:30 wednesday live prologue tour of andalusia.

You are right but if you look on the sky planner they are also showing the tour of Oman on Eurosport 2 at midday, probably catching the end of each stage before going live to Andalusia
    :)

Thats changed since this morning then. Thanks :D

I check the planner for cycling regularly and I’m pretty sure Oman was showing on my planner before Andalusia was , had it set to record since sat evening , I don’t trust Eurosports tv listings online been caught out too often .
    And you’re welcome btw 🙂
