Vote for my Project One Bike – here is why you should

Hi everyone, here is a list of 10 reasons why you should consider voting for my bike design in the Project One Trek Bike competition.

BTW, my bike is the black/grey/blue one with the name “Greg Whitton” 😀

    1. Nobody else has pleaded for your vote that I know of…yet, that makes me a pioneer, a visionary. You should always back a visionary.
    2. I’ve not been riding long, but I love it, I might just stick around here. More members = more stimulating conversation, everybody wins!
    3. I’m a fat lad at the back of the pack, this bike might make me faster (and fitter), therefore there is more likelihood I can share the pain at the front, I’ll be able to do my time in the wind (this helps you!).
    4. It’s black…black is cool, cool today, cool tomorrow, cool forever. So cool in fact, you’ll want to come ride with me, and folks who ride with me get cake, espresso and/or ale.
    5. To prove I’m a noob, I went for the standard wheels, I should have gone for better wheels like those guys who are currently winning. Clearly I need your help.
    6. Back to the black theme, did I mention it was cool? Let’s face it, deep down, you want to ride a black bike too, even if it is unoriginal.
    7. I knew enough to know that my tyres, bar and saddle should all be the same colour and I will never ever mount a pump to the frame! See, there is hope…
    8. For every vote you cast for a competitor, a puppy dies, fact.
    9. Chris Froome liked my design best, he said it should win (this cannot be verified and may not be true).
    10. Asking politely for your vote on here does not appear to contravene the rules nor the spirit of the competition (the judges don’t read this do they?).
    11. I never stop at 10, I always go to 11…or 18 as I only have Sora.

Cheers folks…don’t do it for me, do it for the puppies. 😉

Wow. The power of Twitter. I wonder what would happen if you REALLY put some effort into your tweets:

    Maybe 500 votes per hour?

That isn’t my account, Try Breezerg00d (those are zeros in the good btw). I have another account aswell which has more follows, but is manly used for something else.. so, yeah

    Oh it is definitely
    Oh it is definitely working.

I reckon you have received more than 100 votes in the last 40 minutes! There are some fast fingers out there.

At that rate you will be leading the competition in no time ……

    Agreed. Fair play to everyone
Agreed. Fair play to everyone at the top of the leaderboard, they’re clearly doing something right. I’ve still got plenty of time to bully friends and twitter folk to vote for me… seems to be working slowly but surely lol.

Yeah, there is something fishy about the comments flying around.

Everyone had the same chance of getting into the final draft. Some more than others because of multiple entries.

Juliet is getting some stick, yes, she’s got a large following because she blogs and reviews things and is canvassing for votes. Good on her.

Stick, really? I haven’t seen any comments, obviously not looking in the same places. If she wins (and 24 hours ago she wasn’t winning, so anything can change fast) then I take my hat off to her. She’s had a fair few shares on FB I see, whereas in my case only 3 of my friends have shared, clearly she has nicer friends than me! (lots of ‘unfriends’ coming, lol). At the end, I just hope whoever wins, wins fair, and I don’t think Juliet is doing anything that is unfair at all, she perhaps deserves something back for the effort she makes in other aspects of cycling. =D>

Of course, I’d like to win, who wouldn’t? I’d love that bike, but I’m also happy with the bike I already have considering I only got in the saddle at the end of last year. That said, I won’t turn my nose up to more votes in my favour 😉

At the time I was wrestling with bike-fit issues and didn’t know whether the 56cm H2 was right for me. Turns out it is right for me, and I could have taken the gamble and built up a phenomenal bike, but hey, hindsight is 20/20. There was also a black one with blue flames for £50 more, so when reading this I have to smile, as at the time the flames look was a bit too flashy.

Ouch, that does sound like a bit of a steal and I don’t know much about these things really TBH, but that frame for half price…

Would have ignored the flames one (just not a flames type person)

I do still massively regret not buying the project one frame I saw in a January sale last year. “Leadout grey with pink accent” I think it was.

    How much was the saving?

It is a nice looking bike (she’s better looking). Not sure i’d get away with that colour scheme as a bloke, but i’d have a go.

Well it kind of helps she has a rather large following and a popular blog. All fair though. Not lost hope…yet.
