Ride London Ballot Results

Last year it was possible to find out whether you got a place in the ballot by logging in to your account and seeing if your application had been cancelled or not.

The same link for this year still takes you to the 2013 page…….so……. does anyone have the equivalent link to manage your account for this year? Or know of another way to circumvent waiting for the postman?.

All is not lost – I forgot I
All is not lost – I forgot I applied also in my girlfriends name and unsurprisingly she is the only one with the approved status. Does anyone know if you are allowed to change the details of the winning entry to someone else at the same address? Or is it forfeited if they don’t want to ride.

If all else fails I will ride as her, know a couple of people that did this last year.

Mobile it the way to go.
Mobile it the way to go. ‘Approved’! so I get to do it a second time (sorry dudes and dudesses who missed out) and improve my time. Making plans for the summer…
Thanks for the info today, not knowing until the mag turned up or getting an email would have been best but knowing that the ballot had been called and not knowing was a killer.

Neither does basically making an entry 700 quid for guys with deep pockets.

Fair play for those new to cycling/ old/ young/ not fit who do this for charity as a real challenge / hardship for them, all the best to you.

I agree to a certain degree but Ride London is slightly different for those of us not from London or the SE. I see it more of a one off.

For me it was pretty clear that a small local charity, a hospice in this case with 8 “gold bonds”, was a great cause and would be easy to raise a large sum for (raised lots of small ones for them in the past) simply because the cause, tied in with finishing outside Buck House, would tick the boxes.

So when I started fund raising, the combination of 100 miles (never ridden that far), local hospice and the allure of London was a winner. Hopefully I’ll raise well north of £1000 for them and ride my first imperial century at the same time.

I took the chance and nabbed a (local) charity place. Needed to raise £750 which I did in just over two weeks so don’t let the fundraising put you off, it’s much easier than you think.

    Commiserations to those that
Commiserations to those that miss out. I know the targets can be steep (they certainly are for the marathon) and not everyone is in a position to fundraise to avoid taking the hit personally but, if you are, there are quite a lot of charities that have picked up the event now so that might be worth checking out. There’ll be a rush on registrations with them now the ballot results are out so you may need to move quickly. Alternatively, for non-London based cyclists who would have to have booked accommodation anyway, Sports Tours International has been doing money off it’s entry plus hotel options for a little while (don’t know if it’s still going, though).

Neither option will be viable for a lot of people, but I thought it was worth mentioning…just in case…

I can confirm this is correct – I was able to log into my account and check via Chrome on Android but not Chrome running on a Mac.

I’m showing up as “approved”, but I’ll wait for the magazine in the post before I get too excited.
