bottom bracket question

    Are most external bb’s universal? I’m using a miche chainset which is fine (I changed the chainrings to 52/38 for racing). However the bb is knackered, and I’d like it sorted before I take the good bike out in anger again. I’ve seen dura-ace bb’s for a decent price, but am not sure about the compatibility. Help please

    Not quite, SRAM have a 24/22mm axle so they use their own bb standard, just to be awkward.

    Pretty Sure Miche Cranks use
    Pretty Sure Miche Cranks use a 24mm Spindle and are compatible with Shimano Hollowtech II BBs

    Not EVERY external BB system is cross compatible eg.Campag is Campag specific.

    However… Everything else I’ve encountered is Hollowtech 2 compatible, so you’re in luck.

    (unless someone can Google me wrong 😀 )
