Why do I love cyclocross so much?

It just doesn't make any sense. It's a muddy field with some wooden hurdles. If I went to a xc race like this I'd ask for my money back, but I completed my second cross race last weekend and now I'm utterly hooked. Is this normal?

I think it’s the lack of
I think it’s the lack of pretension – everyone that turns up for a cx race is there to hurt themselves in the name of sport, it’s not fashionable or slick but it is fun…
