Garmin GPS on 31.8mm bars

I am trying to thnk of ways of attaching my Garmin Etrex GPS to the 31.8mm bars on my Cannondale Synapse. The mount that I have works fine on my mtb as that has 25.4mm bars, but on the 31.8mm bars the bar mount won't fit. Any thoughts on possible ways of overcoming this? Cheers.
