New tyre

    Just got this new tyre, out of the box it has this two spots that looks like casing to me or maybe not ? Is it still fine to use it though ?

    No, looks more like it got hit by drops of thin gold paint, rub some solvent over it and it’ll probably come off. The striations of the tyre wall continue through the paint, I don’t see any dip there.

    it seems like chipped off
    it seems like chipped off paint, i tried running my finger through both that spot and its kinda “sink” feeling.

    Looks like a bit of gold paint got on to the tyre to me rather than something coming through. On the first pic, the spot on the right – some of the gold has rubbed off again.

    there’s a thin coating of
    there’s a thin coating of rubber over the sidewall except in those spots. It’s protective, not structural so the tyres are fine.
