At road.cc every product is thoroughly tested for as long as it takes to get a proper insight into how well it works. Our reviewers are experienced cyclists that we trust to be objective. While we strive to ensure that opinions expressed are backed up by facts, reviews are by their nature an informed opinion, not a definitive verdict. We don't intentionally try to break anything (except locks) but we do try to look for weak points in any design. The overall score is not just an average of the other scores: it reflects both a product's function and value – with value determined by how a product compares with items of similar spec, quality, and price. What the road.cc scores mean
Good scores are more common than bad, because fortunately good products are more common than bad.
The Ride Milano Evo 2 jersey, not the smoothest of names admittedly but it is a neat little jersey and one of several similarly priced tops in Ride's line-up. The jersey is priced at £40 so what do you get for your money? Quite a lot as it turns out.
You get silicone grippers on the sleeves to prevent them from sliding up and a few surprise features. For a start there's a security pocket on the rear with a zip. Nothing too out of the ordinary I hear you say, except this one has a waterproof lining.
Secondly, when you're out on a long ride, you've taken a much needed energy gel and you're looking to stash the empty wrapper, the Milano has a unique hidden side pocket lined with an easy wipe material for stowing your empty wrappers and to make sure they don't slip out there is a zip. Genius.
On the back, besides the security pocket, there are three others, which are large enough for stowing all your ride needs. The front zip is half length but not the easiest to use. The tab is fine but it doesn't slide particularly well. The mesh panels under the arms allow ventilation and prevent over heating.
The fabric has been treated with antibacterial properties to keep everything fresh. The fit is comfortable without being restrictive. It moves well when you're riding and generally feels fluid.
For the price this is a neat jersey, a few tweaks would make it a great addition to your wardrobe. The innovative side pocket for stashing rubbish is a real plus.
Fits well, has all the features you would expect for the money and some you wouldn't

Tell us some more about the technical aspects of the product?
Silicone grippers keep the sleeves in place, the pockets are generous on the rear of the jersey. You then have the added bonus of a waterproof lined security pocket and another lined pocket for your rubbish.
The jersey is light and well made. The seams are well stitched without causing irritation but the zip is a bit of a let down, proving to be sticky and reluctant to slide.
The jersey is light, breathes well and keeps the body at a comfortable temperature. It doesn't retain the sweat and even on long rides feels comfortable at the end of it.
It is well made and durable, proving to be a long lasting jersey.
The Milano is lightweight without compromising on quality.
Once on the jersey is comfortable and fits well. The arms allow plenty of movement without restricting your reach.
For the money you get a lot of jersey. You could easily pay double the money and not get all the features that appear on the Milano.
