Summer-weight short-sleeved jerseys may seem superfluous for most of our so-called summertime, but for those who ride hard and hot, a lightweight, highly wicking jersey is a must. The Stolen Goat Momentum Bodyline SS Jersey delivers style and performance in equal measure, with little to find fault with.
One of the first things you notice about Stolen Goat’s jersey offerings in general is the strong graphic designs and bold colours. These are far from being girly flowery jerseys and as such should appeal to the vast majority of female riders. And yes, pink is an option too.
The Bodyline SS jersey in this Momentum colourway is, I think, striking and very visually appealing, plus it coordinates nicely with the Bodyline One Women’s Bib Shorts with the purple cuff. Or plain black obviously.

Features include laser cut sleeves, a YKK zip with protective garage at the top, and it’s made from UV protective fabric. It also has three traditional rear pouch style pockets, one with small water-resistant zipped security pocket. They offer plenty of room for the usual bits and bobs required on a ride, and the zipped pocket is just about big enough for an iPhone 5S but anything larger would be pushing it.

The fit is neat and contoured, with oodles of stretch, but the sizing sits just at the sweet spot with a medium roughly equivalent to a UK12. Given that the range spans XS to XL, that’s catering to a pretty good range for a small brand.

Despite the lack of gripper tape at the hem, the jersey stayed put fairly well, while the fabric wicked moisture well and dried quickly, keeping everything a nice stable temperature and not clammy.

Everything was well finished, with a feeling of high quality to match the performance, and it’s a jersey that could be well suited to summer fitness and recreational riders as well as demanding racers. At this price it sits well within the mid-range for jerseys and is good value for money given the style and performance.
Verdict
A striking and stylish summer-weight jersey with performance to match

Well finished and made from high quality fabric and components. Most seams were standard rather than flatlock stitched but I experienced no issues with chafing.
Performed very well indeed.
High quality, washes well and seems very durable so far.
Contoured but not over tight, so would suit a variety of body shapes well.
Size Med roughly equivalent to a UK12 so spot on with high street sizing rather than the often smaller cycling sizes.
Excellent light weight balanced with good thickness of fabric to be flattering still.
Extremely comfortable, especially laser cut sleeves.
On par with a variety of mid-range jerseys, but very good performance raises it above average.

‘fashion’ always has an emperor’s new clothes element to it. I never got how ‘Bench’ became worth wearing. Sometimes a silly name and a high price tag go together.

Probably the worst cut I’ve seen on any jersey, women’s or men’s. Was it actually designed by a stolen goat?
The neck is woeful yes, but it makes you look like you’ve got two rows of breasts.
If I bought that for the missus I’d be shot. Not a quick shot to the head either. One to nads and left to bleed out.

I don’t really know how it can look like this! I’ve been wearing the same style in a different colourway for a few weeks and it’s actually a really nice cut, with a completely normal neck… You can see here: http://bit.ly/stolengoat Maybe just a strange angle in this photo or something…?!
