These tights are made in a unisex design, and the high chest and back panels mean that you get maximum torso warmth as well as leg cover. They have ankle stirrups to stop them riding up, and they're made from a comfortable and stretchy 'Thermo Roubaix' fabric with a fleecy internal face. All the seams are flatlocked and there's reflective detailing for extra visibility in headlights.
There are four sizes, from 5-6 up to 11-12. We had the smallest pair and Joel (6) filled them and could probably have gone a size bigger, but he's tall for a 6-year-old. He found them 'warm and comfy' on the occasions he wore them, and they're just the thing if your child likes to put in a few miles even when it's not warm out.
They don't have a pad but they can be paired with Pere's lycra shorts, or other kids' shorts, to good effect there.
All in all they performed very well and they're a quality garment that will certainly last a few hand-me-downs. At £49 they're near the top end of what you can expect to pay for children's tights, up with Northwave and Nalini gear, but you're getting good kit that works well.

It's good to see a review of some junior cycle wear. These look like a nice piece of kit for those chilly days.
