Actually, there's a few benefits to this design, including increased torsional stiffness and lighter weight.

 

If it's so brilliant why do they not have a single seatstay/chainstay then?
A single sided fork must be either heavier or less stiff.

The cannondale has this bike priced at $4,200 which at todays exchange rate would be just over £3,200. Why the price hike?
