Cadbury fans brand country a ‘disgrace’ after learning price of Mini Eggs
People have been left fuming at the price of Cadbury Mini Eggs, with some also questioning the size of the bags and the recommended portion size of the crunchy chocolate treats
“I hate this country so much. What do you mean a family bag of mini eggs costs over £6???? A person on minimum wage has to pay an hour of their time to purchase 2 bags of mini eggs? Why aren’t the people angrier? F*** this f****** country, I hate the UK,” vented a frustrated woman.”

Sadiq Khan accused of using London NYE fireworks to ‘spew political propaganda’ after ‘trolling’ Rishi Sunak
One displeased spectator hit out at Sadiq Khan on Twitter, saying: “London Fireworks were an absolute disgrace. F**k you @MayorOfLondon using Paddington Bear & NYE to spew propaganda.
“London is no longer a ‘city of hope’, you killed that, and it is not ‘for everyone’, you filthy cockroach. A total outrage.”
(first time for me with GB News btl comments as well. they don’t disappoint if only I could work what the beef is)

The family should speak to a human rights lawyer, and launch litigation against the pub. Breach of contract leading to denial of a family life. It doesn’t matter how spurious it may sound, there will be precedence somewhere.

If I have this right, there were stocks of this headset (she’s short of cash, but has gone for the top of the range 512gB model) in the store, but the reserved one wasn’t available, and no-one seemed to be able to do the exceedingly obvious.
There’s a lot of teenage boys and a lot of VR headsets, that’s all I’m saying.

Police called after man climbs town’s Christmas tree to take star
A video shows someone scaling Pontypridd’s huge Christmas tree before appearing to dismantle the star from its summit
Footage filmed at the scene and posted on social media by Ellie Roxanne Johnson captures the moment someone climbed the towering tree in Pontypridd town centre, Wales, before apparently dismantling the star from the top. The local town council has confirmed that owing to the extensive damage inflicted on the tree’s summit, replacing the star will be impossible this year.

Christmas ruined for Warrington family unable to collect Halfords bike (Christmas 2024)
“I got confirmation to confirm that the bike had been built and to pick up at 6pm on Christmas Eve – I received this confirmation on Sunday, December 22.”
The mum-of-two said there was no mention of changes to store opening times in the lead up to Christmas Eve, or of changes to the click and collect service the store offers.
She continued: “So on Christmas Eve we went for our Santa experience. At 5.30pm my husband went to collect my son’s bike, his main present from Santa, only to find the store in darkness and the doors locked.
And finally, earliest Christmas is ruined story I found is this little piece of nonsense – I did think the “weather warning” that floated around recently was quite good.

I did write some text when I submitted the new thread. I was going to say I’m not sure of the origins of the original – The Poke is my best deduction. Anyway, with all credit to the originator, I respectfully submit a proposed updated version. I’ve kept much of the original, but I think it’s right to recognise, given the passage of time, that some items could be replaced – with funnier ones and I have tried to come up with a couple.

There’s so many things Christmas unpacks into now – festive lights in small towns – or not, rip-off winter wonderland attractions, the John Lewis advert, isn’t it marvellous/deplorable that on Boxing Day the shops are open / closed and the trains running / not running. Perhaps it’s a bit too niche to say that my local National Trust shop has to have signs up explainimg why Christmas cards are already on sale – quite simply because people ask for them.
Meant to say I’ve retired Conkers as well – you just don’t hear anything about that now.
