Okay, I went on First Cycling who have posted the sprint classification each day and I've worked out a result based on PCS live text and what I can see on Eurosport replays. Temporary provisional results for the two intermediate sprints are as follows. 1. De Bondt 2. Van Goethem 3. Tiller at first sprint. 1. Van Der Poel 2. Senechal 3. Koch at second sprint. This seems to make the most sense to me. I'll await clarification if it ever comes, or until someone in the know has the information.
Having real trouble finding the super 8 sprint results for today. They don't post them anywhere on their website. Every year this is an issue.
I'm going to have to upload these results without the sprint points. There's just no way to look at yesterday's standings and compare the results and they don't post these results on their website. I'll update when I know more. I've reached out on Twitter so we'll see if we get a response.
Damn you stevemarks! When I saw the results I was sure I'd win the stage
Basically came down to Laporte vs Teunissen - I regret nothing!
better luck next time. I blew the overall on the last day if it's any consolation
sorry i'm late to this party. but cancelled stages are covered in the rules, and transfers are counted.
I think it is the only sensible rule to be honest.......... and I fell foul of the transfers this time around.
Have we decided what's happening with transfers?...I'm sat with three TT picks who I could be swapping out. 33 mins to deadline.
Part of the game has always been to do transfers as late as possible, in order to take into consideration late changes in riders/the situation/weather/etc. Whilst I have sympathy for those who transferred early, I think this is now the norm in the Covid world. Even to the extent of using lots of early transfers, in case the whole race is stopped. (eg Paris - Nice). My vote would go to letting the 8 transfers stand.
Same here. I'm sat with my original 8 transfers.
Agreed. We've all been caught out by late rider withdrawals (perhaps especially in Classics season), and we've all left it too late and missed the window.
Good. Used four already, Ackermann + Merlier - Kragh Andersen + Kung, then Kragh Andersen + Kung - Ackermann + Merlier.
My four changes used were pretty much the same.
Two sprinters out for Kung and KA, two sprinters back in for the same riders.
We're discussing giving out additional transfers, but we're not sure how best to do it. Update tomorrow.
I used a lot of transfers moving in time triallists who would prosper in the hilly stages. I was only going to bring in 2 sprinters for today so I'm screwed! Goddamn virus!
Was risky anyway but completely blows my chances now!
I probably see things slightly differently as I have not used transfers on the cancelled stages, but I feel that giving out extra transfers once the race has started sets a precedent that may create future problems. If this logic is applied, you could argue for removing transfers from the Autumn Classics because of the cancellation of Amstel Gold and I certainly don't remember there being any call to restore transfers used on the cancelled stage of last year's TdF. The game can never be perfect but is fine as it is. Now let's get picking that Italian Riders team for the Giro.
Guys, I've already made 2 transfers in my team for the TT stage, before to know that the stage was cancelled. I've lost the transfers, then?
Pretty much common news now... https://www.cyclingnews.com/news/dutch-binckbank-tour-stages-cancelled-d...
ITT on Friday now I'm hearing
Yes, my transfers for the TT were made a stage early now!
Yep, 8.14 km with a 0.6 km climb at 6% to start. Up & down after that - not sure if it will affect the specialists.
My notes from a couple of years ago say that at the sprint points, there is an extra point if the breakaway is more than 30 seconds ahead of the peloton and 2 extra points if more than 1 minute ahead.
ABSOLUTE NEWS FLASH!
I've just heard tomorrow's stage and
Saturday'sFriday's stage have apparently been cancelled. These are the stages that venture into the Netherlands and they've been cancelled due to tighter Covid restrictions.Seeing the same. Amstel gold in doubt as well.
stages 2 and 4 I understand tomorrow and Friday.
I thought it was Wednesday today. What kind of weird stage race finishes on a Saturday!
Just made transfers. Woops. The plan to set up for the TT from the start doesn't seem so smart now.
Mmmm...no it doesn't. I managed eighth today with a similar strategy..I would have been well set.
I missed Van Poppel though.
