So does Jesse Norman love or hate bikes?

Just seen this article in the Grauniad about Jesse Norman wanting to increase cycling.

How about you stop writing inflammatory letters to cycling organisations first?

He says in that article he wants to help solve transport problems by shaking the magic money tree and offering help for people to buy electric bikes and electric cars, but then goes on to say that there's no money for cycling infrastructure and that's entirely down to the local authorities to sort out... I think his priorities are guided by which companies are sponsoring his party this week...

He's even more interested in poncing about as a minister and avoiding not nice stories.

Just seen it.

Jesse Norman isn't interested in cycling he's interesting in stopping the government being sued due to air pollution levels and saving cash for the  NHS.

Wanting to save money for the NHS shouild motivate him to support cycling and walking, so good. Unfortunately he also indicates a willingness to look at hivis and helmet compulsion, so bad. And then, of course, there's the absolute shite of that letter. So on balance, he might like his bike, but probably has no useful clue how to increase cycling, or even avoid reducing it.

He has a belief that helmets will decrease serious head injuries in incidents with large vehicles.  He clearly needs to read the inside of his cycling helmet.
