Garmin blue mount holder broken.

Hi,

Can anybody tell me whether the blue mount on the back of Garmins can be replaced? Mines on its last legs and I don't really fancy forking out for a new unit just because of damaged piece of plastic.

Cheers

I got a second hand one for my old 800 off eBay for £20, no soldering needed but your need a tiny torx screwdriver and some patience !

I've just ordered the repair tab that The Gavalier mentioned... It looks like a fairly easy fix (but can report back if necessary).

It couldn't be easier, I've fitted 2 and both still going strong.

I've used this:

Glue it over the broken mount and away you go. Not bad for a tenner.

Cheers 'The Gavalier'.

I'm definitely going to give that a go first. To all the rest who replied, thanks nice to know I still have options.

Yes, you can replace the back. I think there is some soldering required as some of the wiring attaches to the rear cover, also a bit of silicon waterproofing required for the micro-usb port. There are companies on the internet who can do the repair (including Garmin) if it's not something you want to tackle yourself....
