Here is a photo of the split where the carbon is coming away from the alloy
DSC_0866.JPG
Thanks for the help everyone. I'm on holiday at the moment so can't post a photo. The issue will be if they see it as wear and tear. However, there is no damage to the rim, no impact damage, no abrasion damage. It looks as if water got into the water drainage hole and started to lift the ladder. This has gotten worse and the carbon seemed to bubble. And now the carbon is splitting along the grain so I can now just see the alloy underneath. Like I said I can understand that riding them in the wet the lacquer may lift ( although you would have thought shimano would have worked out how to stop this at this price), so I would put that down to general use. I have used them on a short ride every couple of weeks in winter but cleaned them. However, a split? Compromising strength? Not so sure, surely not built to last or for intended purpose? I'll post a photo when I get back. Thanks again

The warranty link kev-s provided is for North America. This link is for EU and has;
* for two years for all Shimano Products excluding Dura-Ace and XTR branded products;
* for three years for Dura-Ace and XTR branded products only;
* from the date of original retail purchase.

You guys get better wheel warranty than we in the states...arrgh.
All Dura Ace components have 3 years warranty, everything else has 2 years
All wheels however only have 1 year

I think Dura Ace stuff even have a 3 year warranty, at least they do at CRC.
I was under the impression that all Shimano products were covered by a 2 year warranty, so should be able to return them without difficulty.
Dear Chris,
Do you have a picture?
Could it be a warranty claim if the carbon's coming undone from the alloy? Where did you buy from, some dealers offer 2 year warranties.
Or a home made clamp, surface prep and some epoxy?
kindest wishes
Pete
