Pinarello has announced that it will be offering a version of its Dogma F8 race bike with SRAM’s new Red eTap wireless groupset from January 2016.

Read our First Ride report on SRAM Red eTap from earlier in the year.

It’s not a surprising move. We expect many other manufacturers to make similar announcements regarding their high-end road and time trial bikes over the coming weeks and months.

We told you a couple of weeks ago that Boardman also plans to release a SRAM Red eTap equipped AiR in early 2016.

SRAM’s Red eTap system allows you to shift to a smaller sprocket with the right lever, to a larger sprocket with the left lever, and to shift chainrings by pressing both levers at the same time.

As well as the RED eTap groupset, the Dogma F8W will be built up with Zipp 303 Firecrest Carbon Clincher wheels, and a Most Aero 3K stem and handlebar.

The holes in the frame that would usually be used for gear cables/wires have been covered – Pinarello hasn’t produced a wireless-specific frame here – so you could switch back to a more conventional groupset later if you wanted to.

A limited number of Dogma F8W full bikes in the finish pictured here will be available from January. We don’t yet have a price.
