Sugoi's Windblock tights are designed to keep you warm though the coldest and windiest conditions. A combination of water- and wind-proof materials and warm, breathable fleece fabric certainly means that the tech is right up there with the best, but sadly these tights are let down by a rather poor fit.

Sugoi describe their Windblock tights as a "performance-orientated bib tight for cold weather riding". That pretty much fits the bill for almost all the tights in the market, but what sets these tights apart are the panels on the front of the tights. They are made from a sturdy, slightly harder shell material and a single panel is designed to cover your whole quad and knee.
It's a great idea but these panels don't deliver in the fit department. The windproof material is not stretchy enough to suit this portion of my leg and as such lead to the tights feeling tight and almost restrictive during a pedal stroke on my upper legs. As a result of this, the calf portion of the tights also ended up bunching up and being very baggy below my knees. I found this irritating both when getting dressed to ride, and also when actually out riding.

Ignoring the fit for a second, all the material technology in these tights really was good at keeping me warm on even the coldest UK winter days, and I found the windproof nature of the material to be very effective. The water resistance also worked well up to a point, but then these aren't full blown waterproof tights so I was happy.
I'm divided on whether it is a good idea to have a pad in tights or not, often choosing to ride with my comfy bib shorts under padless tights. However I found the pad on the Windblock tights was perfectly fine, as I have found with other Sugoi shorts. I had no issues with it, regardless of whether I was on my mountain, road or cross bike.

I think the combination of materials makes these tights very good value at £79.99, but its impossible to ignore the poor fit so I can't call these tights particularly good value.
Overall, the Sugoi Windblock tights have a lot of good technology incorporated into them, but the execution of their final design is rather poor – leaving me reaching for better fitting pairs of tights.

Verdict
Clever windproof technology and fabric let down by questionable fit

Take that stripey shirt off,
Take that stripey shirt off, burn it, burn the bag it came in, burn the bank card you bought it with, never speak to anyone who has seen you wear it, and for goodness sakes, never appear on the internet wearing it.
It’s for your own good, trust me.
