Aside from riding brand spanking new Yeti’s this week we have also been collecting new kit in the office for test. There are a couple of new helmets from Smith Optics, a frame bag that also doubles as a vehicle for putting weights on your downtube and some tasty looking snacks from Clif.

Smith Forefront 2

We are fans of the original Forefront so were keen to get our hands on the new version, the Forefront 2. We’ve had this a little while now although the embargo has only just passed and will be bringing you a review once we have put the miles in, in all temperatures.

Smith Rover

The second product in for test from Smith Optics is the relatively new 2018 version of the Rover lid. About £70 cheaper than the Forefront 2 above, this is a stylish trail lid without MIPS but with the revised Koroyd system meaning that lights and cameras can be fitted easily via numerous styles of mounts.

Rock Bar storage tube

We received news of this new product last week and one has just landed ready to be put to the test by our bikepacking aficionado, Pat. Recently launched in the UK, the Rock Bar can fit on your bike in a multitude of ways and store pretty much anything, so they say. I’m sure Pat will tell…. You can read more about the Rock Bar here in our news piece.

Yeti mug

Maybe not the most exciting thing to land in the office but the bike that it came along with it was pretty cool. Our Jon had a spin on the brand new Yeti SB150 last week and came away impressed, saying the bike “absolutely rips”. You can read his first ride review here. In the meantime we are enjoying tea c/o Yeti, a gratuitous photo of the new bike and a tasty nut filled bar….. (ahhh, segue perfection)

Clif bars

Helping us through the office drudgery after a long weekend are some new nut butter filled Clif bars. We’ve got Peanut butter, Chocolate hazelnut butter and Chocolate peanut butter and taking testing seriously as you’d expect we will be testing thoroughly, all 66 of them…..
