Two men have been arrested after a hit-and-run crash yesterday that left a 74-year-old bike rider dead on the A449 Stafford Road in Wolverhampton, according to a report from the Express and Star.
Police issued an alert to be on the look out for a black Seat with damage to the front, and last night recovered a black Seat Leon from a nearby garage.
Two men aged 30 and 33 were arrested and released on bail while investigations continue.
The crash victim, whose name has not yet been released, was confirmed dead at the scene despite the efforts of paramedics to help him.
Sgt Tim Rogers, from the Collision Investigation Unit, said: "This was a tragic case where a man has lost his life and the driver of the vehicle involved failed to stop and contact police.
"I want to thank the public for the response to our appeal to trace the car yesterday and would continue to ask anyone who witnessed what happened or anyone with any information to come forward and call us."
Witnesses should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

I think there should be Zero-tolerence for anything that could get you points deducted, I know of someone who sweet-talked their way out of being booked for drink driving, that shouldn’t be possible.

He loved his cycling and his family. If he wasn’t out on his bike around the lanes of Shropshire and Staffordshire then he was watching the cycling on Eurosport. He’d always be happy to wave or stop for a chat to other cyclists. He used to ride/race for Hill Top Cycling Club way back in the 1950s before having to give it up do his National Service in the army. He will be very sadly missed.
