So we need to get some more facts here, including presumably that there was indeed another lorry from the same company with the same livery in the vicinity at the time and which section of the Highway Code makes it a thing to sound your horn in that circumstance.
to the police: you do know how much stick from motor vehicles we cyclists get on any given day don’t you? When the article says “road rage attack”, no person actually got injured. People on this forum and others criticise you at times – I make the point that you’re all we’ve got to re-balance the power here, truly a thin blue line.
For us there is the constant threat of personal injury from cars and where lorries are concerned, death. You can be erased from existence in a couple of seconds. – it’s a continual threat. The system doesn’t protect us from harassment and danger; sometimes we get a bit defensive, things can get escalated and misunderstood.
So, sorry if this member of the cycling fraternity has gotten the wrong end of the stick this time. Smashing up bits of the lorry isn’t OK.
I hope he makes himself known to you so both sides of this story can be told.
