So we need to get some more facts here, including presumably that there was indeed another lorry from the same company with the same livery in the vicinity at the time and which section of the Highway Code makes it a thing to sound your horn in that circumstance.

to the police: you do know how much stick from motor vehicles we cyclists get on any given  day don’t you? When the article says “road rage attack”, no person actually got injured.  People on this forum and others criticise you at times – I make the point that you’re all we’ve got to re-balance the power here, truly a thin blue line.

For us there is the constant threat of personal injury from cars and where lorries are concerned, death. You can be erased from existence in a couple of seconds. – it’s a continual threat.  The system doesn’t protect us from harassment and danger; sometimes we get a bit defensive, things can get escalated and misunderstood.

So, sorry if this member of the cycling fraternity has gotten the wrong end of the stick this time. Smashing up bits of the lorry isn’t OK.

I hope he makes himself known to you so both sides of this story can be told.

I get very annoyed when people I know give me some horn when I’m out cycling. On the way home once, my wife passed me and gave it a blast and it scared the shit out of me and I told her not to do it thanks. Had to tell the same thing to people I work with as well. Unless you’re warning me of something stay off the horn.

The horn. Use only while your vehicle is moving and you need to warn other road users of your presence. Never sound your horn aggressively. You MUST NOT use your horn

    while stationary on the road
when driving in a built-up area between the hours of 11.30 pm and 7.00 am

except when another road user poses a danger.

Seems like the world has it in for taxi drivers  then…

    If the road rage cyclist

If the road rage cyclist damaged the lorry and rode off then he’s going to get in trouble.

Same with drivers leaving the scene of a accident and not swapping details.

Luckily not all cyclists and drivers have road rage.

Is this a joke? Police are seriously putting crime resource into a cyclist that shouted nasty words?

Meanwhile passing conversation is conducted at knife point in London but nothing else an easy target eh TVP?

    I wouldn’t commit criminal

I wouldn’t commit criminal damage, but the lorry driver can f’off here.

Don’t beep your horn, and don’t be surprised if people take umbrage at you driving like a twat when behind the wheel of a 30 ton lorry.
