I’m running SRAM Force CX1 on my cross bike but want to change the gearing to a closer range with fewer, large steps. At present I have a 42 up front and 11-36 at the back. SRAM 11 speed cassettes are a little more expensive than Shimano, so any idea if I can swop out and use an 11 speed 105 which is about £10 cheaper and also more widely available. I’ll be swopping out the front chain ring also, have gone with narrow wide from Superstar

    Excellent, it does have that

Excellent, it does have that prefix and I also now realise that I have a spare Ultegra cassette in the garage so I’ll give that a try.

    If your current  SRAM

If your current  SRAM cassette name starts with PG  (eg PG1170) then you can use the Shimano cassette. If it starts with XG you have the SRAM XD freewheel and they only accept SRAM cassettes (10 tooth compatibility apparently).
