Hi guys,
I decided recently out of pure vanity that I want to swap my perfectly working 105 5800 drivetrain (Ultegra 6800 crank) that did 15,000km so far with Campagnolo Chorus. I think the action tells 1000 words about me :). Terrible, I know…
Anyway, I started slowly buying components online and came to the cassette issue. Now, there is still life in 105 cassette and I read that Shimano/Campagnolo compatibility when it comes to 11 speed cassette is pretty good (tiny spacing differences).
Would you guys run it in this way? Any experience?
Of course, at some point I will invest in proper Campagnolo hub for my wheels+cassette, but I was also wondering how does Miche cassettes come into play here? For example, do Shimano and Campagnolo compatible Miche cassettes have different spacing? If so, I guess Miche cassette might not give that little “marginal gain” in comparison with Shimano Ultegra cassette for example. Any experience would be helpful. Miche is interesting because you can get those 12-29, 12-30 combinations.
Thanks!
