Tour de Romandie – Prologue

My team for this one is:

    Froome
    Martin
    Porte
    Gesink
    Frank
    Majka
    Dennis
    Wyss (M)
    Van Rensburg

I think the climbers will do better than they usually do in a prologue but that the TTers may still come out on top.  My money is on Martin for the win, Froome, Gesink, Porte, Frank and the likes of Peraud and Spilak to get close with a smattering of TT specialists (Tuft, Bono, Malori) there or there abouts.  Don't see sprinters competing in this one.

I guess that’s right. TdR have just posted …

GPM, général provisoire : Froome et Bravo 5pts. Talansky et Bérard, 3. Kiserlovski et Veilleux 2. Porte et Fumeaux 1.

so it looks like the points were awarded yesterday.

    Ah, sorry, just realised that
Ah, sorry, just realised that it’s technically a summit so just 5,4,3 & 2 for standings, stage points not scored.

Either way, will update this evening.

But what you’ve posted translates as:

Step 1 of the ToR Ranking GPM (Gruyère PDO) after arrival in Bruson: 1. Froome, 5 pts. 2. Talansky, 3pts. 3. Kiservolski 2pts. 4. Porte 1 pt.

Given that they were the first four on the stage I think it’s safe to say they were awarded those points but I’ll check it against whatever results for the KoM they release at the end of today’s stage.

If they’ve been given then when I do the scores tonight I’ll do an update on the prologue to reflect that, expect them to get an extra 9, 7, 5 and 3 points respectively.

    Why 9,7,5,3?

85 standard, 51 purist, could have been worse but too many of my high-priced riders (Martin, Gesink, Frank) didn’t pay off.

    Now, what about tomorrow 😕

    I’ll be doing the scores
I’ll be doing the scores tonight, just a quick announcement the official Tour de Romandie website is showing ‘No Results’ for both the sprint and mountains competition.

Effectively that means there are no stage KoM points and no standing for either competition despite the prologue being classed as a cat 3 climb. Scores will be uploaded on this basis and should it change they’ll be updated later.

    Originally I had Porte
Originally I had Porte Talansky Rui Costa and Betancurt but then changed it all bringing in Martin and Malori!! Disaster! Maybe it is better to go with the expensive favourite!
